Alta Orlando put in a brave performance on Saturday night in the Group 1 Hunter Cup at Melton to finish second behind Lochinvar Art. Alta Orlando used his gate speed to take the lead, before handing up to Lochinvar Art first time past the post. With a 53.2 last half it was always going to be incredibly difficult for him to catch the leader and he finished 2 lengths behind in a 1:54.8 mile rate.

Alta Orlando was purchased from the Mark Purdon barn with the idea that beach training could help him with his leg issues. With the help of vet Dr Sam Taylor he went on to win 7 races and almost $100,000 in stakes before being sent to Australia where he has taken his earnings to almost $750,000. Alta Orlando is still owned by Jenna Dunn, Sam and Mitzi Taylor and Dr Marg Evans, who also own Wyatt Waller and Pro Surfer with us.
